business as normal at Cable Solutions

15 / 06 / 2020

The last couple of months has been historic for sure, with the coronavirus pandemic spreading the COVID-19 disease to every corner of the world, crippling businesses and industry, and killing hundreds of thousands of people; we’ll never forget 2020. Social distancing and lockdown have changed our lives now, and for the foreseeable future, nothing is certain. We would like to take this opportunity to wish good health to all of our business partners, employees and clients, and that they stay safe during these challenging times.

Like every business, Cable Solutions is looking forward to the lift on lockdown and a speedy return to normal business in 2020, but in the meantime, we are meeting the challenge with a positive mindset. As part of the global supply chain, and in compliance with current Government guidelines on social distancing, Cable Solutions will remain open and operational, with a selection of our team working from home and on rotation.

“Cable Solutions are still active and remaining positive, and it’s testimony to a very informed and hard-working team. From existing clients operating in the North Sea, we have loop orders being delivered this month for service loops, aux, power and fluid for a rig’s top drive. Additionally, we have completed the manufacture of a TDS4H power, control and fluid loop for a TDS4H top drive, and we are beginning to see some traction on our new service loop and Kelly hose covers.” … added Graham Ross - Business Development Manager.

“With a flexible rota in operation, employees can also have days at the office. We are still open for business and operation, and we can still be very hands-on. In addition to our top drive service loop and cable orders, we currently have a massive 5-tonne power cable and drum to restore at our warehouse, it’s seen better days but we are looking to reclaim its condition and operational value. Our team are currently reworking, rerunning, retesting and redrumming the cable for future offshore use.” … commented Colin Fraser - Managing director.

Cable deliveries from stock are still in demand though reduced due to the partial shutdown of oil & gas related projects due to the pandemic. We’re still able to offer same-day deliveries locally, next day nationwide, and within a week on average globally. Our strong supply chain means that short lengths and lead times are unchanged on manufactured items. Overall, we can’t complain, we’ve been busy with many cable orders including GEXOL Type P IEEE45, cable bridles, NEK606, BS6883, RISE pipe and cable penetrations, Toughcat data, Profibus, and marine cables.” … added John Rickman - General Manager.
